Day 4 – Adelaide – 6 April 2017

Well dopey here forgot her Fitbit, so haven’t done any steps, LOL. Mind you we didn’t do much walking today but it would still have been nice to have them recorded.

Anyway, we went for a drive today. Gary stayed home so with Helen behind the wheel we headed north to Gawler. There are lots of virtual resort munzees out there, so this was the only way to get some of the may here around Adelaide. We drove through the Barossa Valley and stopped in Lyndoch for a cuppa, but the cafe was closed, so we carried ion to Tanunda where we had a coffee break. From there we headed back to Gawler and then carried on to Semaphore on the coast (well the shore of the St Vincent Gulf).  We stopped for lunch at a seaside cafe and then drove south again to Glenelg. Continuing south again we headed for the Onkaparinga River Regional Park where Helen and Maria become mountain goats and I ventured a little way up the hill!

We then headed back to home base via Glen Osmond and Mardun as we didn’t want to drive through Adelaide as the traffic is awful!

Once home had a little breather then headed out for 90 minutes of munzeeing. Met a local munzee hunter and had a chat and then headed home for dinner.

Odd place for a bull! SemaphoreSemaphoreHelen was at the top Maria is at the top!

Day 3 – Adelaide – 5 April 2017

Well we had a different day today, only managed 30,000+ steps today, LOL. H, M & I left just before 7 and did some walking, Gary picked us up about 10 and we went home for some refreshments and a break. Us girls went out again for a little while again and then met Gary at the local shops for a shopping expedition for those essential things like food, LOL.

After lunch around 2 we all left the house just after 3 and headed for Glenelg about 45 minutes away. The traffic was quite heavy so even though Glenelg is relatively close it took a long time.

We had a walk along the park and then across the bridge, carried on along the shore and then back home.

Day 2 – Adelaide – 4 Apr 2017

Well, what is needed this evening is a foot masseuse. After 34,500+ steps ones feet are a little stiff and sore, LOL.

H, M and I left home at 6.30 am and walked the streets. Adelaide has lots of lovely old houses, as well as the University and Cathedral. Lots of parks and gardens around the place. It was cool to start off but warmed up to being almost to hot to be out on the streets.

We got back for lunch and a rest and then left here again about 2 and Gary dropped us off near the city centre and we did a bit more street walking after which he picked up up again and now we are relaxing, cooking dinner and writing blog!

Here are a few photos from today!

Day 1 – Perth to Adelaide, 3 Apr 2017

Well, here we go again, LOL.
Started packing at 4.45 and and finished a couple of hours later, Had a couple of diversions in there, but got it done. So far don’t seem to have forgotten anything.  Arrived at the airport at 11, dropped off the bag and then got that elusive hotel munzee outside which I haven’t been able to find before!

Helen and Gary have been in South Australia fora few days already and Maria flew in an hour or so before me. I had a man next to me who sniffed the whole trip, very annoying, but it was only a 3 hour flight. Even managed a short nap!

Maria had already got my suitcase by the time I got down to the baggage carousel and then Helen & Gary arrived at the pick-up spot as we got outside. Great timing all round. Only a short drive north to our accommodation. Stopped at the shops for a forgotten item as H & G had already been shopping. Helen has found another nice house for us to stay in and after unpacking us 3 girls went for a little munzee walk whilst Gary looked after the lasagna in the oven.

Nice dinner with salad included, and now H, G & M are doing cryptic crosswords and I’m writing this. South Australia is 90 minutes ahead of WA, so it’s time for bed, LOL

Day 6 – January 29th – Shepparton-Melbourne-Perth

Had another late night early morning, lol.

We all went for a drive to cap some newly deployed virtual resorts, and then walked around our event trail as we hadn’t got it capped the day before. Then Lisa, Deb and Duncan walked around the lake and capped those as I had already done them, so I sat and chatted with Geraldine & Pete. From there we went back to the same highway to get more ne resorts and to put some out. Mission accomplished we went back to the hotel to pack and check out for 10. After that we had a treat. Lisa took us out to the farm where her calves are bred. We only saw he latest from a distance as it had been released out to paddock, but there we 3 other babies in the pens. A first for me I reckon, I was around all that hay, and straw and furry things and didn’t sneeze once!!!!!

From there we drove over to the Australia emerald garden so that Deb could get her million points badge, very exciting! And then on to the airport where we said farewell to Deb & Duncan. Deb off to Brisbane and Duncan to Perth but a different airline. Lisa and I sat around for a bit, caught our flight. I slept a bit, had my log book signed and was told that the American Airlines captain from a flight last year was a very famous pilot!

Found the car first look this time, helps having the correct car park, lol, popped into Mum’s and then home. Back at work Monday, sigh. Had a great trip, met lots of wonderful people and saw lots of great things. xoxo

And what’s a better way of finishing off a visit to Shepparton than cow pictures!

Day 5 – 28th January, 2017 – SheppZee

Well today was our event, WA Day in SheppZee, to which we had a great turnout, 67 scanned the attendees pin. We got to the Gardens a little after 8 and set up a table with fund raising items on for the Zaidee Foundation and a raffle. Also the all important laptop on which to mark the Eventzee photos.

We had the introduction and instructions and everyone then made their way off to cap munzees and photograph what they thought were the answers to our clues. This kept Lisa and I busy for a long time as we had 59 people submitting photos for 20 clues.

Once most people had returned around noon, we had a cheque presentation to the founder of the Zaidee foundation and lots of thank yous and prize winners and everyone seemed to have had a good time.

We had a very late lunch (no breakfast!) and then took Deb on a capping spree as she wanted the 100k badge, which is hard to get at any other time than an event. Having achieved that we had a short break in the hotel, and then off to dinner with a table of 9. Lots of chat and fun and laughter! From there we headed to the Aussie Hotel to sit and talk more, but the band started playing just after 10 and we couldn’t hear ourselves at all, LOL. A brief interlude outside the hotel and then back to our rooms, another late night!

Day 4 – January 27th 2017 – Shepparton

Well, won’t get much today, as it’s actually Saturday, what, I’ve seen midnight!!!!!

Had a mixed day. Went out early for a drive to cap the very special rainbow trails that have been created as a fund raiser for the Zaidee Foundation. Had breakfast just around the corner from the hotel, then Lisa went off to a meeting, and Duncan and Ade went off as well, so I had a nice little walk in the park. Met up with both of them and then did some street walking and munzee capping. They were then heading off to far flung pastures and so I returned to the park and sat for a while.

Lisa picked me up and we went and sorted out our Eventzee clues and photos, did some quick shopping and then back to the hotel. I then set to work putting out the virtual munzees for our events.

Left the hotel just after 5 and met up with everyone at the park, where the Mayor of Shepparton opened up our event and talks by various people before we headed off around the lake, meeting other players, chatting and capping.

From there we went to dinner at the Aussie Hotel and had a gift thank-you ceremony for Rob and Louise who came out from Texas & England respectively for our events. Had a nice meal and then walked a couple of blocks with other WA players. Back at the hotel we sat and talked about all sorts of things. Eventually found a nano geocache outside the hotel, very much a group effort, lol. From there we headed back to the hotel, sorted out Munzee, Eventzee & raffle prizes. I finished off deploying virtuals for our big event tomorrow, typed this and as it’s 12.45 it’s definitely time for bed! xoxo

Day 3 – January 26th 2017 – Melbourne-Shepparton

Sorry, this is going to be another photoless entry, it’s 10.45 and I need to shower and get to bed as we are going out again at 6!

Anyway, we left the Melbourne hotel just after 7.30 and headed down the hill to Avis for the car. We stopped at Albert Park for a very short time and then made our way over to Elsternwick Park for the big munzee event. Didn’t have time for breakfast! We got a great parking spot and then headed off to the streets to get some prize-wheel munzees before heading back to the event. I discovered I didn’t have my Fitbit on me, and thought I might have lost it, but when finally back at the car the phone found it so I knew it was in my suitcase somewhere for much later unearthing, LOL

Did a lot of walking around the park, then down to Port Phillip Bay, and then back to the park. It actually tried to rain 3 times, but only amounted to a tiny sprinkle, but having it overcast for most of the day was good! Had a sausage for lunch at about 2 and then did a little socialising, won third prize in the event munzees (a premium membership) and also a raffle prize, a jar of vegemite and some munzees, LOL.

After saying goodbye to everyone and noting that several of them we would see again tomorrow, we headed out of Melbourne and took the highway up to Shepparton. Drove around a bit munzeeing and then got to our hotel just before 9. A quick trip to the local kebab place for dinner and now it’s nearly 11 and time to get organised!

I promise some photos sometime, LOL. xoxoxo

Day 2 – January 25th, 2017 – Melbourne

Will have to add photos later as it’s really late and we have an early morning tomorrow.

We had a busy day today, after a late start.  Breakfast at around 10 in Degraves St which is a collection of cafes whose tables are all out on the street. Very nice hotcakes!

Walked around the CBD for a little while and then back at the hotel for a quick sit before Geraldine and Redman picked us up and took us for a long scenic drive. We stopped off at Lilydale Lake and had a lovely walk around it, got a little sunburnt on the arm!

From there we went back to Geraldine’s for a drink and then on to the restaurant for the first event of our trip. Had a great meal of spare ribs and salad! Capped a few munzees in the vicinity and went back to Eric & Nats place for a cuppa, then Geraldine drove us back to the hotel, It was a long trip back it’s 11.30 and we need to be out by 730 tomorrow! Just over 8 kms today!
